Jasper Wildfire Relief Fundraiser
Vines Wine Merchants Jasper Wildfire Relief Fundraiser
Working with Vines Wine Merchants I was given the task of designing a wine label for a selection of wines, the profits of which would go towards helping the Jasper wildfire evacuees. Keeping this in mind I wanted to design a label that was both eye-catching and inspired a sense of hope, encouraging costumers to buy a few bottles to go towards a good cause. The design features a mountain scene contrasted with the rising sun, signifying hope, alongside a bold font signifying strength and determination to continue on. Characteristics that evacuees and all Albertans alike can relate with.
Snobby Frog Winery
Product Branding, Strategy & Campaign
This advertising project presented an oppurtunity to put to the test my ability to create a brand from scratch that was instantly recognizable and stood out from competitors. Starting from the initial process my goal was to create a cohesive brand, clear brand voice, and a strong strategic campaign.
Liquor Store Ad
The final advertisement incorporates both a pull up poster and frog print floor decals designed to draw the consumer into the space, acting as a way finding tool to help them locate the product within the retail space.
The tagline for this advertising campaign "We're not snobby, we're just better than everybody else" draws attention to the playful irony that is often associated with wine drinkers being snobby individuals. Using this as a tagline aims to make the brand feel more approachable especially for people who may be intimidated. Overall the product aims to to be playful, approachable and a perfect choice for consumers who are beginning to explore the world of wine.
The first step in creating a brand began with crafting a strategy on the grounds of strong research. Focusing specifically on the wine industry it became apparent that typically older demographics are targeted. This can have an adverse affect on young wine drinkers who are just being introduced to this product and may feel that wine is something that only old wine snobs drink and therefore feels less approachable. For this reason I wanted my brand to feel approachable and witty to further engage with my demographic of 21-28 year olds and in turn get more younger people interested and excited about the wide world of wine. The final brand offers a hand drawn aesthetic paired with playful irony in the copy which further leads to a more approachable look and tone for the brand, in turn making it more appealing to younger consumers.
Packaging Design
Keeping the packaging minimal with a hand drawn feel helped to create a more approachable brand. The logo itself pulls inspiration from old cartoon reels found in newspapers where the hand drawn illustrations would be encompassed in a thin line frame. Using a more cursive font in the name paired with a hand stamped font in the copy helped to create a balance while still maintaining that authentic hand drawn feel. For colour palette used I chose to use a bright frog like green colour to compliment the more muted brown background of the packaging to create a strong focal point for the logo itself and increase brand recognition with my demographic.

Alberta Music
Product Branding, Strategy & Campaign
The rebranding project offered an opportunity to work with a downtown Edmonton based client to complete an extensive brand over haul of their existing assets. Beginning with meeting the client in there offices my goal was to gather existing tangibles of their brand, speak with the client about their existing brand values, and begin to build a cohesive consistent brand across multiple platforms.
The first step that began this brand over haul was beginning research into the existing brand. Right away it was clear to see that the existing brand lacked consistency with multiple different iterations of the logo found throughout both print and digital media. Choosing to work with a company based in the music industry was of great interest to me being an avid music love, but not only that working with a company that aims to provide services to up and coming musicians was an opportunity I wanted to be apart of. For the brand overhaul I wanted the brand to feel vibrant, approachable, and be apparent to consumers what the brand does or is involved in. Keeping this is mind I wanted to logo to have a strong connection to music without feeling cliché, for this reason I chose to utilize a more abstract yet legible volume bars in my combination mark. Utilizing bold and vibrant colours the goal was to create a brand that was clear, consistent and approachable given the fact that many up and coming artist will be seeking them out for their services they provide.
Tangibles
For the existing tangibles I was tasked with redesigning the goal was to maintain consistency across multiple mediums. For this I chose to incorporate the volume bars used in the logo throughout my various print media. This helped to bring in some consistency that the brand was lacking before while helping the brand to feel more vibrant, approachable and professional. Some of these print media tangibles included a t shirt, pins, business cards swell as business envelopes.
